Film Synopsis
Growing Up Green is a Documentary of our time. Many young people in society are wakening up to the immediacy of the issues around climate change and the extinction of many species on our planet.
However, it is rare to have intimate access to a community who have always put the needs and respect for the planet firmly on their agenda and have gone to considerable measures to educate their children on the importance and value of sustainability over materialism. Growing without chemicals, living in harmony with nature, not having an interest in high fashion, developing alternative energy technologies and the recycling of waste were once seen by many as strange and marginalised behaviours. But now that these aspects have been normalised and integrated into our everyday life, ‘Growing up Green’ takes a fresh look at The Findhorn Model, particularly from the perspective of the young people who have an engrained awareness of living with these elements of life.
